I’m in afghanistan with a 128k connection shared between an office of about 10 people, so you know that I was compelled by the hand of God to put the word out that this game is pure fecal matter, seriously–this is like EA on parade and the horses just went by. EA’s NFS development team is apparently amok and composed of wild animals who care not where they shat!! I’m a huge fan of the Most Wanted, even Carbon (which had its flaws but I could still appreciate it), and I got hooked by the NFS Underground series. But their last two generations of this series have left a lot to be desired in the fun department.
I don’t know what engineering genius thought it would be neat, necessary, or even worth the time to program the game to automatically brake for you whenever it decides you’re not conforming to its driving style (this might be changeable via options but I didn’t care to figure it out–call it lazy but there were no settings that intuitively signed hey change me for a somewhat realistic racing experience, where if you wanna drive balls to the wall into a turn, then knock yourself out). Video games are supposed to be where you can defy physical law and even rational thinking. This game took that away from me and I want it back. This video game is UNAMERICAN, from the annoying british crew chief to the imperialist red coat rule of how to play.
DO NOT BUY!!

After tweaking the sensitivity settings for over an hour and getting increasingly frustrated with how unrealistic the car control felt, I decided to give it one last shot with the microsoft steering wheel. Let me tell you this; unlike previous NFS games, this one is WORTHLESS without the steering wheel: The unrealistic and jumpy steery becomes MUCH more natural, and it starts to feel like it should.
Now if they could only do something to reduce the lag in the steering inputs. . .
