Xbox 360 Limited Edition Red Wireless Controller and Play & Charge Kit

Microsoft is the shadiest company on the planet. I swear they make these things with the intent of having them break like glass. It’s not like a wireless controller some new invention. They don’t even have the typical variety of colors, if you want anything but white and black, you need to buy a special edition xbox to go with it.
It’s about time they sell a red controller solo, but of course it’s not just the controller, you have to buy the charger kit that comes with it too. Yet I can’t get a replacement for my Halo edition green controller or buy any cool ‘ice’ controllers (see through chasis) which Sony has offered for over a decade. God forbid you try to mod the thing, M$ uses security pins in all the wireless controllers to prevent you from customizing or repairing the equipment you paid $50 for.
I’m glad I bought a 360 but it’s such a hassle to replace these crappy controllers after only a few short months. If there were any viable 3rd party option (Saitek is mostly a PC gamepad and MAdCatz has sucked for ages) I’d go with them in a heartbeat.

The D-pad is new, or at least, so says Microsoft. It seems to work better, but I don’t know that it works as it should. It’s a shame really, something so simple that they just can’t get right.
Either way, if you play any games that use the Dpad, getting a new controller is a good idea.
The red color is okay. The battery pack seems to not work as well as the normal ones, causing the guide button to start circling and the vibrations to turn off when you’re still above 50% battery life. . . but whatever.

Really love the controller, but the contents list that 2 AA batteries are also included. There was none whatsoever in my package.
Even though that is so, love that they have made a red controller =D

Not only is the controller I received not red but it seems to disconnect from the system periodically. Also, it’s not like I can just easily send this item back to actually get the correct color because I am a deployed soldier, thanks buddy. Merry Christmas.

This is a must buy for the serious Xbox 360 owner/gamer!
I have owned more than a few 360 controllers over the last couple of years and this one stands out – particularly for the following reasons;
1) the D pad finally WORKS CORRECTLY! Yes, it really does. They have really tightened up the D-pad and it works correctly on this controller. A very nice touch. Nothing is more aggravating when playing a game that relies on accurate use of the D-pad and you press it right and the controller selects something else.
2) the bump pads (LB and RB) are black which makes them stand out. They are also tightened up.
This is a great controller that not only looks good, it plays GREAT! Well worth the $$. Comes with a red rechargeable battery and black play and charge cable.
